Couldn't agree more - getting back to something whenever you are able, without self blame, is far more important than maintaining a streak. I've skipped just about every habit I was trying to build in the last couple of weeks due to various things - no writing, very little drawing, no treadmill. Yesterday I got back on the treadmill again, no anger at myself, and so today was able to do so again. Forgiving myself and moving on is probably the only thing that has ever helped me build habits.
