We arrived as the sun was setting to check out the museum grounds when we heard the distinctive sound of a steam locomotive whistle and saw a distant plume of smoke in the hills. We set up near the tracks and caught the inbound excursion train shoving into the depot at East Ely. 03:08 II. The next morning we arrived at the roundhouse to help get NN 93 ready for a day out on the rails. Soon the regular crew was backing the locomotive out of the building and inviting us aboard to learn how to operate a steam locomotive. We traveled light engine to the end of the line at Keystone where the fireman oiled around before making the return trip to East Ely. 14:28 III. Later in the day, the 93 pulled a special excursion train for trustees of the Nevada Northern. We chased it out along the Lincoln Highway to Keystone.
